Sean J. Barbeau, Ph.D.

Dr. Sean J. Barbeau is currently a member of the research faculty of the Center for Urban Transportation Research at the University of South Florida.  Dr. Barbeau has over 8 years of experience with the development and application of intelligent mobile technology to transportation challenges and has served as the principal investigator for multiple research projects involving GPS-enabled mobile phones.  He has also served as part of the international Expert Group developing a Java-based software standard for location-aware mobile phones, “JSR293 - Location API 2.0”, and holds seven patents and over 40 peer-reviewed publications in the area of location-aware technology.  Dr. Barbeau holds a Ph.D. in 
Computer Science & Engineering Ph.D. 
from USF as well as a 
Masters and Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from USF
